Trip Overview

A complete Char Dham pilgrimage covering the four sacred shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. The journey also covers Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi or Phata, Pandukeshwar, Joshimath, Rudraprayag, Srinagar, Rishikesh and Haridwar.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi Departure

Pickup from Delhi Railway Station or a pre-scheduled pickup point and begin the overnight journey towards Barkot.

Day 2

Arrival in Barkot

Enjoy the scenic beauty of Uttarakhand during the journey. Optional visit to Kempty Falls if time permits. Arrive in Barkot, check into the hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3

Barkot - Jankichatti - Yamunotri - Barkot

Drive approximately 45 km to Jankichatti and begin the Yamunotri Yatra. The journey includes approximately 6 km of trekking. Pony, palki or kandi services may be hired at personal cost. Return via the same route to Barkot for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Barkot to Uttarkashi

After breakfast, check out and drive approximately 85 km towards Uttarkashi. Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple en route. Check into the hotel, have dinner and stay overnight in Uttarkashi.

Day 5

Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi

Morning drive to Gangotri. Take a holy dip in the sacred River Ganges, also called Bhagirathi at its origin, and perform Pooja. Return to Uttarkashi for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

Uttarkashi to Guptkashi or Phata

After breakfast, check out and drive approximately 225 km towards Guptkashi or Phata. The town is known for religious sites including Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnareshwar Temple. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7

Guptkashi or Phata - Sonprayag - Kedarnath

Early morning drive towards Sonprayag or Sitapur parking. Take a local vehicle or jeep to Gaurikund at personal cost and begin the approximately 19 km trek to Kedarnath. Dinner and overnight stay in a Kedarnath hotel, Bhavan or camp.

Day 8

Kedarnath - Gaurikund - Guptkashi

Take blessings at Kedarnath Temple in the morning and trek down towards Gaurikund. Take a local jeep at personal cost and continue towards Guptkashi. Check into the hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 9

Guptkashi or Phata to Pandukeshwar or Badrinath

After breakfast, check out and drive approximately 200 km towards Pandukeshwar or Badrinath via Joshimath and Pipalkoti. Check into the hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 10

Badrinath to Rudraprayag or Srinagar

Visit Badrinath Temple and perform rituals and Pooja. After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Rudraprayag or Srinagar. Pass through locations including Karanprayag and Rudraprayag. Check into the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11

Rudraprayag or Srinagar - Rishikesh - Haridwar

After breakfast, drive downhill towards Rishikesh and Haridwar. Visit Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula and Muni Ki Reti in Rishikesh. Continue to Haridwar and enjoy the evening Sandhya Aarti before proceeding towards Delhi.

Day 12

Haridwar to Delhi

Continue the journey to Delhi and drop at Delhi Railway Station or Airport according to the pre-scheduled departure. The Char Dham Yatra concludes with memorable experiences.

Accommodation including 2 nights in Barkot, 2 nights in Uttarkashi, 2 nights in Guptkashi or Phata, 1 night in Kedarnath in homestay, Bhavan or camp, 1 night in Pipalkoti, Joshimath or Pandukeshwar, and 1 night in Srinagar or Haridwar. 9 breakfasts and 9 dinners, vegetarian only.
